Learning Manager

One of the core features of EmployPlan is the ability to discover, assign and track training events beyond just online course. With EmployPlan, users can track any learning event and provide reviews on the content. This includes books, like the popular O'Reilly Guides or other technical books, as well as vendor event hands on labs, online seminars, continuing education and, of course, online courses that you can find and assign through the platform.

As a profession builds a depth of learning experiences across users, it will recommend the learning events that correlate to the highest skilled users on the platform so we encourage employees to record all learning events that are material to their understanding. While hours of assigned work drive the majority of the demonstrated experience metrics for a skill, learning events and frequency of training impact the user advancement as well.

In the EmployPlan platform, Learning Manager tab provides a location for project-driven employee development as well as bench development. This area of the platform gives visibility to the specific skills employees need to improve for project assignment as well as assigned training and mentoring progress by project.

Employee with Missing Skills

Employees will be assigned to this group when they have been assigned to a Project at (or for) a specific Role, which has skill requirements that the employee currently doesn't meet.

missingskills

When a specific employee skill is identified for development, it will be marked as missing until the employee has started the assigned courseware selected to improve the skill. Employees with missing skills have two key paths for skill development: Find Training and Find Mentor

Find Training

Selecting the Find Training button for an employee's missing skill will open a pop-out window on the right side of the screen, which shows a recommendation of courses. These courses populate automatically depending on the type of skill that is missing, and the skill level that is required. A search bar allows you to search for specific courses by strings in their name.
